First announcement: International Workshop on: THE INTEGRATION OF GENDER DIMENSIONS IN IWRM: LESSONS AND CHALLENGES OF THE MEDITERRANEAN REGION

From 13 to 14 July 2011 the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute (MAI) of Bari, International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), the Gender and Water Alliance (GWA) will hold, in collaboration with the GEWAMED Project Partners, an International Workshop on “The Integration of Gender In IWRM: Lessons and Challenges” within the framework of the GEWAMED Project.

The workshop, which will be held in Brussels, will be an opportunity to review together experiences, knowledge, results, socio-economic tools and to share the achievements at institutional level as to the integration of gender in water resources development and management. Specifically, the Workshop will:
  • Communicate the most important results achieved by the GEWAMED Project;
  • Identify good practices from participants' experiences that may contribute to the gender mainstreaming in IWRM; and
  • Prepare proposals for action plans at regional and country level.
